Since opening their doors on January 2nd, 2018, Lucilla has become a local favorite in Tallahassee. The 50-seat dining room has been the destination for foodies looking for the very best dishes in the city. A couple of their local favorites are the pimiento cheese fritters with bourbon peach glaze are absolutely delicious, and their Snapper St. Charles, topped with crab meat, lemon butter, pecans, and sweet potato ribbons is a dish you’re bound to hear about around town at some point or another. Due to the high volume of diners, in particular, during dinner times, we recommend calling ahead and making a reservation to avoid the long wait times.

Another favorite dining destination in Tallahassee is Backwoods Crossing, whose tagline “From our farm to your fork” probably gets your tummy just as excited about dining there as it does for us. The Rice brothers (Jesse and Tyler) turned their passion for food into a reality when they opened their first restaurant, Backwoods Bistro. After successfully launching their first restaurant in 2012 to rave reviews from critics and locals alike, they opened Backwoods Crossing. Each week, you’ll find new creative dishes from their Garden Creations menu, crafted with locally supplied ingredients and seasonal items from their own garden. Be sure to check out some of the local favorites like their scrumptious fire-grilled dish called The Beast, with beef stuffed with mushrooms, red peppers and onions, topped with Beast Sauce, bacon and cheese. It is indeed every bit as delicious as it sounds.

You’ll have a tough time finding a place that you get so much for less money than what you’ll find at Table 23, another family-friendly Tallahassee favorite. As soon as you walk through the doors, you’ll fall in love with the welcoming, comfy atmosphere and southern hospitality you’ll find there. Owners Joe and Mandy Lemons poured their heart into their restaurant, and it shows not only in the vibe they’ve created for the place, but in the fantastic foods they serve there. Be sure to check out their Lucky Goat Coffee-Rubbed Ribeye and Three Little Pigs dishes which will absolutely blow your mind with an explosion of flavors.

Kool Beanz Cafe is nearly always crowded for good reason. It is freaking AMAZING! You can’t help but love the eclectic atmosphere, with a colorful interior filled with local artists’ work. If you’re looking for something a little different than what you’d typically find, this is the place. Their dishes are creative and change daily, so you never know what you’ll find, but you can always rest assured that. Kool Beanz Cafe is like a party in your mouth with all the right ingredients. You can’t make reservations, so be sure to give them a quick call before going during dinner hours to see how long the wait is.

Not only will you find some of the best cocktails in town at Liberty Bar and Restaurant, you’ll also find a gourmet menu of creative dishes that feature local produce and ingredients that rotate frequently. The environment is comfortable and welcoming, and the service is incredible. Be sure to try their perogies, which are the best you’ll find in town, as well as their Duck Confit Mac and Cheese which will leave you wondering why you haven’t tried this place sooner!
